Workflow

We support you during the entire process – from idea and execution to follow-up and operation.

  • 1. Audit

    Based on easily accessible information about the property, we make an initial survey of possible energy optimisations. From an environmental, economic and qualitative perspective. How is the energy produced? How effective is the existing solution? What indoor climate does the property have?

    The result of the audit is presented as an energy analysis.

  • 2. System design

    After matching measured data and insights with customer specific needs and conditions, our experts present a complete system design. The ambition is to find an optimal synergy between the energy system and the customer’s wishes. We keep what works and replace what doesn’t.

    The system design is presented together with a concrete business proposal. The customer is given the opportunity to add specific options depending on their general preferences (KTC Life and/or KTC Planet) and fully customise the solution as desired. For our offer ENERGY+ we also provide an in-depth investment / return analysis.

  • 3. Project

    KTC carries out the entire project as a full-time contract. With over 35 years of experience in developing smart technical solutions and refining the interaction between different energy systems, we know what is needed to deliver a sustainable overall solution.

    KTC takes full responsibility for implementation in the property, including design, necessary permits, coordination and education. Customer specific requests for subcontractors (UE) on procurement can also be taken care of.

  • 4. Connectivity

    When the project is finished the property is connected to KTC Cloud – our cloud-based services. KTC Cloud’s intuitive and user-friendly interface gives you full control of the property’s energy performance.

    There are many good reasons to share implemented energy optimisations with residents. KTC Cloud offers customised presentation views for this purpose.

  • 5. Operation & Support

    Energy optimisation is a long-term commitment. KTC takes responsibility for the entire process. Whenever a project has been implemented we also monitor and optimise the solutions we have developed. DISTRICT HEATING.

District heating is a safe and environmentally friendly source of energy, currently available in the vast majority of urban areas. Usage of district heating can be optimised and combined with other heat sources, which is of benefit not only for the property owner, but also for the district heating network as a whole.


ENERGY STORAGE / HEAT PUMP.

With a rechargeable storage layer, the drill-hole surface can be reduced by 75%. Recharging is done by solar thermal, district heating or other heat sources depending on the current conditions.


CHARGING STATIONS.

Electric and hybrid cars are becoming all the more common, and setting up charging stations is a great way to promote further development of electric cars. With charging stations, solar electricity can also be sold within the property. And by joining measurement of the charging station with the apartment's IMD system, users can easily have the cost added to their rent or usual electricity bill.


LIGHTING.

When several systems for input and control can be used, the result will be much better. An optimised control system for your lighting based on, for example, weather and time of year, will reduce energy consumption considerably. Allowing your lighting to be turned on whenever it’s needed, will also increase security.


VENTILATION.

In systems with energy storage and hybrid panels, ventilation can easily be modified to create free cooling during summer, which greatly increases comfort. Excess heat from the ventilation charges the drill-holes, which increases the efficiency of the heat pump. Even the efficiency of the ventilation heat exchanger increases, and may even be higher than the theoretical efficiency.


LOAD BALANCING.

Load balancing is a clever way to ensure maximum utilisation of self-produced and purchased electricity. When checking all inputs and outputs, a smart system can be built where current electrical outtake is based on usage as a whole. Load balancing also allows the size, and thereby the cost, of the fuses for the property to be reduced.


SOLAR CELLS.

Solar or hybrid panels produce electricity and thermal energy for local use in the building. In case of surplus, electricity can also be sold online or within the property.


OPTIMISATION SERVICES.

In order for the property to continue delivering the correct energy savings, or even increase its savings, ongoing analysis and optimisation is required – both on site and digitally through our cloud services. ENERGY BALANCE CALCULATION.

An in-depth analysis and calculation that takes specific conditions of the property – such as size, effect and energy requirements, heating and tap water requirements etc. – into account. The various components of Energy+ are then dimensioned based on this analysis.


SUBMETERING.

Submetering is used to gain control and to gather data for continuous optimisation and analysis. Submetering can also be carried out in individual apartments, as a basis for distribution measurement (IMD) and billing for water and electricity. With distribution measurement for electricity, fixed costs will decrease since each resident no longer needs a subscription. The principle of fairness is also a strong argument for the introduction of distribution measurement for water usage.
